About Solitude (album)
Solitude," the debut album from Darband, delves into the profound themes of life and death, love and its absence, the transient nature of existence, and the experience of solitude. Opening with "Memories," a composition by Darband, the album sets a reflective tone, journeying through past experiences. This theme of reflection is further explored in the title track, "Solitude," which examines the multifaceted aspects of solitude, intertwined with personal and collective memories. "Grandma’s House" revisits the nostalgia of a long-lost childhood, while "Ravage" offers Darband's musical interpretation of a poem by Hafez, melding classical literature with contemporary soundscapes. "Startled from a Dream" captures ephemeral moments of love, and "Ghazal 759" is an artistic adaptation of a poem by Rumi, adding a mystical dimension to the album. The collection concludes with "Snails," featuring a poem by noted contemporary poet Roja Chamankar, which presents a nuanced perspective on love in a patriarchal society.
